Deep sea fishing is done from a boat and generally the fish are larger, but not as cunning as fresh water fish such as carp. Heavier braid, hooks, line etc is required, as are larger swivels. There is a lot of heavy duty sea fishing gear available if you require it. Grouper, snapper, tuna and kingfish. Specialist sea hooks with reversed barbs are used called baitholders. The reverse barb holds the bait in place.

Part of the appeal of deep sea fishing is the adventure aspect. The journey there and back on the open sea in your boat all adds to the appeal.
